◎마태복음 27장 39~53절 (Matthew 27:39~53)

“Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads and saying, 'You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!' In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders mocked him. "He saved others," they said, "but he can't save himself! He's the King of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, 'I am the Son of God.' "In the same way the robbers who were crucified with him also heaped insults on him. From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land. About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, 'Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?'-which means, 'My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?' When some of those standing there heard this, they said, "He's calling Elijah." Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink. The rest said, "Now leave him alone. Let's see if Elijah comes to save him." And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.” (NIV)

“지나가는 자들은 자기 머리를 흔들며 예수를 모욕하여 이르되 성전을 헐고 사흘에 짓는 자여 네가 만일 하나님의 아들이어든 자기를 구원하고 십자가에서 내려오라 하며 그와 같이 대제사장들도 서기관들과 장로들과 함께 희롱하여 이르되 그가 남은 구원하였으되 자기는 구원할 수 없도다 그가 이스라엘의 왕이로다 지금 십자가에서 내려올지어다 그리하면 우리가 믿겠노라 그가 하나님을 신뢰하니 하나님이 원하시면 이제 그를 구원하실지라 그의 말이 나는 하나님의 아들이라 하였도다 하며 함께 십자가에 못 박힌 강도들도 이와 같이 욕하더라 제육시로부터 온 땅에 어둠이 임하여 제구시까지 계속되더니 제구시쯤에 예수께서 크게 소리 질러 이르시되 엘리 엘리 라마 사박다니 하시니 이는 곧 나의 하나님, 나의 하나님, 어찌하여 나를 버리셨나이까 하는 뜻이라 거기 섰던 자 중 어떤 이들이 듣고 이르되 이 사람이 엘리야를 부른다 하고 그 중의 한 사람이 곧 달려가서 해면을 가져다가 신 포도주에 적시어 갈대에 꿰어 마시게 하거늘 그 남은 사람들이 이르되 가만 두라 엘리야가 와서 그를 구원하나 보자 하더라 예수께서 다시 크게 소리 지르시고 영혼이 떠나시니라 이에 성소 휘장이 위로부터 아래까지 찢어져 둘이 되고 땅이 진동하며 바위가 터지고 무덤들이 열리며 자던 성도의 몸이 많이 일어나되 예수의 부활 후에 그들이 무덤에서 나와서 거룩한 성에 들어가 많은 사람에게 보이니라” (개역개정)

Those who passed by hurled insults at
him shaking their heads and saying: 지나가는 자들은 자기 머리를 흔들며 예수를 모욕하여 이르되
You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself!: 성전을 헐고 사흘에 짓는 자여 자기를 구원하고
Come down from the cross: 십자가에서 내려오라 하며
if you are the Son of God: 네가 만일 하나님의 아들이어든
In the same way the chief priests: 그와 같이 대제사장들도
the teachers of the law and the elders mocked him: 서기관들과 장로들과 함께 희롱하여 이르되
He saved others," they said, "but he can't save himself! : 그가 남은 구원하였으되 자기는 구원할 수 없도다
He's the King of Israel: 그가 이스라엘의 왕이로다
Let him come down now from the cross: 지금 십자가에서 내려올지어다
and we will believe in him: 그리하면 우리가 믿겠노라
He trusts in God: 그가 하나님을 신뢰하니
Let God rescue him now if he wants him: 하나님이 원하시면 이제 그를 구원하실지라
for he said, 'I am the Son of God.': 그의 말이 나는 하나님의 아들이라 하였도다 하며
In the same way the robbers who were crucified with him also heaped insults on him: 함께 십자가에 못 박힌 강도들도 이와 같이 욕하더라
From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land: 제육시로부터 온 땅에 어둠이 임하여 제구시까지 계속되더니
About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice: 제구시쯤에 예수께서 크게 소리 질러 이르시되
'Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?': 엘리 엘리 라마 사박다니 하시니
which means, 'My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?': 이는 곧 나의 하나님, 나의 하나님, 어찌하여 나를 버리셨나이까 하는 뜻이라
When some of those standing there heard this:
they said, "He's calling Elijah.": 거기 섰던 자 중 어떤 이들이 듣고 이르되 이 사람이 엘리야를 부른다 하고
Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge: 그 중의 한 사람이 곧 달려가서 해면을 가져다가
He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink: 신 포도주에 적시어 갈대에 꿰어 마시게 하거늘
The rest said, Now leave him alone: 그 남은 사람들이 이르되 가만 두라
Let's see if Elijah comes to save him: 엘리야가 와서 그를 구원하나 보자 하더라
And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit: 예수께서 다시 크게 소리 지르시고 영혼이 떠나시니라
At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom: 이에 성소 휘장이 위로부터 아래까지 찢어져 둘이 되고
