for you to wake up from your slumber : 너가 잠에서 깰 때가.

slumber 얕은 잠,선잠을 자다. salvation 구원. nearer 더 가까이.

“이 시기”란 언제인가? “잠에서 깰 때”이다. 이 말은 물론 그리스도인들을 겨냥해서 하고 있는 말이다. 바울은 수차에 걸쳐 그리스도인들을 향하여 잠에서 깨어나라고 촉구했다.

“그러므로 이르시기를 잠 자는 자여 ! 깨어서 죽은 자들 가운데서 일어나라 그리스도께서 네게 비취시리라 하셨느니라” (엡 5:14). 이 구절 역시 구원받지 못한 자들이 아니라 그리스도인들을 향한 그의 부르짖음이었다.

지금이 어째서 잠에서 깨어나야 할 시간인가? “이는 이제 우리의 구원이 처음 믿을 때보다 가까웠음이니라” 고 말씀한다. 이것은 물론 예수 그리스도의 재림을 언급한 말씀이다.

이사야 56:1,2

1 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 너희는 공평을 지키며 의를 행하라 나의 구원이 가까이 왔고 나의 의가 쉬 나타날 것임이라 하셨은즉

2 안식일을 지켜 더럽히지 아니하며 그 손을 금하여 모든 악을 행치 아니하여야 하나니 이같이 행하는 사람, 이같이 굳이 잡는 인생은 복이 있느니라

1.This is what the LORD says: "Maintain justice and do what is right, for my salvation is close at hand and my righteousness will soon be revealed.

2.Blessed is the man who does this, the man who holds it fast, who keeps the Sabbath without desecrating it, and keeps his hand from doing any evil."

고린도전서 15:34

34 깨어 의를 행하고 죄를 짓지 말라 하나님을 알지 못하는 자가 있기로 내가 너희를 부끄럽게 하기 위하여 말하노라

34.Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God--I say this to your shame.

데살로니가전서 5:6-8

6 그러므로 우리는 다른 이들과 같이 자지 말고 오직 깨어 근신할지라

7 자는 자들은 밤에 자고 취하는 자들은 밤에 취하되

8 우리는 낮에 속하였으니 근신하여 믿음과 사랑의 흉배를 붙이고 구원의 소망의 투구를 쓰자

6.So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.

7.For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.

8.But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.

누가복음 21:22-28

22 이 날들은 기록된 모든 것을 이루는 형벌의 날이니라

23 그 날에는 아이 밴 자들과 젖먹이는 자들에게 화가 있으리니 이는 땅에 큰 환난과 이 백성에게 진노가 있겠음이로다

24 저희가 칼날에 죽임을 당하며 모든 이방에 사로잡혀 가겠고 예루살렘은 이방인의 때가 차기까지 이방인들에게 밟히리라

25 일월 성신에는 징조가 있겠고 땅에서는 민족들이 바다와 파도의 우는 소리를 인하여 혼란한 중에 곤고하리라

26 사람들이 세상에 임할 일을 생각하고 무서워하므로 기절하리니 이는 하늘의 권능들이 흔들리겠음이라

27 그 때에 사람들이 인자가 구름을 타고 능력과 큰 영광으로 오는 것을 보리라

28 이런 일이 되기를 시작하거든 일어나 머리를 들라 너희 구속이 가까왔느니라 !' 하시더라

22.For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written.

23.How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people.

24.They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

25."There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.

26.Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.

27.At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28.When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."

또한 너희가 이 시기를 알거니와 자다가 깰 때가 벌써 되었으니 이는 이제 우리의 구원이 처음 믿을 때보다 가까왔음이니라

12.The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

is nearly over 거의 끝나다. is almost here 거의 여기에 있다,가깝다.

put aside 곁에 제처 놓다,그만두다, ~을 따로 남겨두다. deed 행위.

the deeds of darkness : 두려움의 일,(두려움 속에서 하는) 어두운 일들,주님을 믿지 않음.

put on (옷을)입다,(안경을)쓰다,~하는 체하다,(연극을)상연하다,(속도를)늘리다. armor 갑

tand put on the armor of light. : 빛의 갑옷, 빛이신 예수님을 따르는 주의 군사로서 소명과 사명을 다하는 것.

바울은 지금 그리스도의 재림을 내다보고 이런 말을 하고 있는 것이다. “밤이 깊고 낮이 가까웠으니”는 말씀은 교회 시대의 종말을 바울이 얼마나 절박하고 있었는가를 보여 준다.

바울이 이 말씀을 기록하던 때는 교회 시대가 막 시작되던 때였다. 그러므로 그의 말은 교리적으로 교회 시대의 종말이 바울의 때였다는 것이 아니라 바울이 자신의 때에 이미 교회시대가 종말을 향하여 치닫고 있음을 절실하게 느끼고 있었다는 뜻이다.

밤이 이미 지났다는 것은 제1 경점(오후 6-9시), 제2 경점(오후 9-12시), 제3 경점(자정 12-3시), 제4 경점(오전 3-6시)이 다 지나고 이제 해가 뜰 때가 되었다는 말씀이다. 다시 말해서, 예수 그리스도께서 재림하실 때가 가까이 이르렀다는 말씀이다.

요한복음 9:4

4 때가 아직 낮이매 나를 보내신 이의 일을 우리가 하여야 하리라 밤이 오리니 그 때는 아무도 일할 수 없느니라

4.As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.

골로새서 3:5-10

5 그러므로 땅에 있는 지체를 죽이라 곧 음란과 부정과 사욕과 악한 정욕과 탐심이니 탐심은 우상 숭배니라

6 이것들을 인하여 하나님의 진노가 임하느니라

7 너희도 전에 그 가운데 살 때에는 그 가운데서 행하였으나

8 이제는 너희가 이 모든 것을 벗어버리라 곧 분과 악의와 훼방과 너희 입의 부끄러운 말이라

9 너희가 서로 거짓말을 말라 옛 사람과 그 행위를 벗어버리고

10 새 사람을 입었으니 이는 자기를 창조하신 자의 형상을 좇아 지식에까지 새롭게 하심을 받는 자니라

5.Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

6.Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.

7.You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.

8.But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

9.Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices

10.and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

에베소서 6:10-13

10 종말로 너희가 주 안에서와 그 힘의 능력으로 강건하여지고

11 마귀의 궤계를 능히 대적하기 위하여 하나님의 전신 갑주를 입으라

12 우리의 씨름은 혈과 육에 대한 것이 아니요 정사와 권세와 이 어두움의 세상 주관자들과 하늘에 있는 악의 영들에게 대함이라

13 그러므로 하나님의 전신 갑주를 취하라 ! 이는 악한 날에 너희가 능히 대적하고 모든 일을 행한 후에 서기 위함이라

10.Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

11.Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.

12.For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

13.Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
