◎마태복음 27장 54~66절 (Matthew 27:54~66)

“When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, 'Surely he was the Son of God!' Many women were there, watching from a distance. They had followed Jesus from Galilee to care for his needs. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's sons. As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus. Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus' body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb. The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate. "Sir," they said, "we remember that while he was still alive that deceiver said, 'After three days I will rise again.' So give the order for the tomb to be made secure until the third day. Otherwise, his disciples may come and steal the body and tell the people that he has been raised from the dead. This last deception will be worse than the first.' 'Take a guard,' Pilate answered. 'Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how.' So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard.” (NIV)

“백부장과 및 함께 예수를 지키던 자들이 지진과 그 일어난 일들을 보고 심히 두려워하여 이르되 이는 진실로 하나님의 아들이었도다 하더라 예수를 섬기며 갈릴리에서부터 따라온 많은 여자가 거기 있어 멀리서 바라보고 있으니 그 중에는 막달라 마리아와 또 야고보와 요셉의 어머니 마리아와 또 세베대의 아들들의 어머니도 있더라 저물었을 때에 아리마대의 부자 요셉이라 하는 사람이 왔으니 그도 예수의 제자라 빌라도에게 가서 예수의 시체를 달라 하니 이에 빌라도가 내주라 명령하거늘 요셉이 시체를 가져다가 깨끗한 세마포로 싸서 바위 속에 판 자기 새 무덤에 넣어 두고 큰 돌을 굴려 무덤 문에 놓고 가니 거기 막달라 마리아와 다른 마리아가 무덤을 향하여 앉았더라 그 이튿날은 준비일 다음 날이라 대제사장들과 바리새인들이 함께 빌라도에게 모여 이르되 주여 저 속이던 자가 살아 있을 때에 말하되 내가 사흘 후에 다시 살아나리라 한 것을 우리가 기억하노니 그러므로 명령하여 그 무덤을 사흘까지 굳게 지키게 하소서 그의 제자들이 와서 시체를 도둑질하여 가고 백성에게 말하되 그가 죽은 자 가운데서 살아났다 하면 후의 속임이 전보다 더 클까 하나이다 하니 빌라도가 이르되 너희에게 경비병이 있으니 가서 힘대로 굳게 지키라 하거늘 그들이 경비병과 함께 가서 돌을 인봉하고 무덤을 굳게 지키니라” (개역개정)

and exclaimed, 'Surely he was the Son of God!': 이르되 이는 진실로 하나님의 아들이었도다 하더라
Many women were there, watching from a distance: 많은 여자가 거기 있어 멀리서 바라보고 있으니
They had followed Jesus from Galilee to care for his needs: 예수를 섬기며 갈릴리에서부터 따라온
Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's sons: 그 중에는 막달라 마리아와 또 야고보와 요셉의 어머니 마리아와 또 세베대의 아들들의 어머니도 있더라
As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus: 저물었을 때에 아리마대의 부자 요셉이라 하는 사람이 왔으니 그도 예수의 제자라
Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus' body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him: 가서 예수의 시체를 달라 하니 이에 빌라도가 내주라 명령하거늘
Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock: 요셉이 시체를 가져다가 깨끗한 세마포로 싸서 바위 속에 판 자기 새 무덤에 넣어 두고
He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away: 큰 돌을 굴려 무덤 문에 놓고 가니
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb: 거기 막달라 마리아와 다른 마리아가 무덤을 향하여 앉았더라
The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate: 그 이튿날은 준비일 다음 날이라 대제사장들과 바리새인들이 함께 빌라도에게 모여 이르되
"Sir," they said, "we remember that while he was still alive that deceiver said, 'After three days I will rise again.': 내가 사흘 후에 다시 살아나리라 한 것을 우리가 기억하노니
So give the order for the tomb to be made secure until the third day: 그러므로 명령하여 그 무덤을 사흘까지 굳게 지키게 하소서
Otherwise, his disciples may come and steal the body and tell the people that he has been raised from the dead: 그의 제자들이 와서 시체를 도둑질하여 가고 백성에게 말하되 그가 죽은 자 가운데서 살아났다 하면
This last deception will be worse than the first.': 후의 속임이 전보다 더 클까 하나이다 하니
'Take a guard,' Pilate answered. 'Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how.': 빌라도가 이르되 너희에게 경비병이 있으니 가서 힘대로 굳게 지키라 하거늘
So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard: 그들이 경비병과 함께 가서 돌을 인봉하고 무덤을 굳게 지키니라
