“Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words. They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. "Teacher," they said, "we know you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are. Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?' But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, 'You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? Show me the coin used for paying the tax.' They brought him a denarius, and he asked them, 'Whose portrait is this? And whose inscription?' "Caesar's," they replied. Then he said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's." When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away.” (NIV)
“이에 바리새인들이 가서 어떻게 하면 예수를 말의 올무에 걸리게 할까 상의하고 자기 제자들을 헤롯 당원들과 함께 예수께 보내어 말하되 선생님이여 우리가 아노니 당신은 참되시고 진리로 하나님의 도를 가르치시며 아무도 꺼리는 일이 없으시니 이는 사람을 외모로 보지 아니하심이니이다 그러면 당신의 생각에는 어떠한지 우리에게 이르소서 가이사에게 세금을 바치는 것이 옳으니이까 옳지 아니하니이까 하니 예수께서 그들의 악함을 아시고 이르시되 외식하는 자들아 어찌하여 나를 시험하느냐 세금 낼 돈을 내게 보이라 하시니 데나리온 하나를 가져왔거늘 예수께서 말씀하시되 이 형상과 이 글이 누구의 것이냐 이르되 가이사의 것이니이다 이에 이르시되 그런즉 가이사의 것은 가이사에게, 하나님의 것은 하나님께 바치라 하시니 그들이 이 말씀을 듣고 놀랍게 여겨 예수를 떠나가니라” (개역개정)
Then the Pharisees went out: 이에 바리새인들이 가서
and laid plans to trap him in his words:어떻게 하면 예수를 말의 올무에 걸리게 할까 상의하고
They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians: 자기 제자들을 헤롯 당원들과 함께 예수께 보내어 말하되
"Teacher," they said, "we know you are a man of integrity: 선생님이여 우리가 아노니 당신은 참되시고
and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth: 진리로 하나님의 도를 가르치시며
You aren't swayed by men: 아무도 꺼리는 일이 없으시니
because you pay no attention to who they are:이는 사람을 외모로 보지 아니하심이니이다
Tell us then, what is your opinion?: 그러면 당신의 생각에는 어떠한지 우리에게 이르소서
Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?: 가이사에게 세금을 바치는 것이 옳으니이까 옳지 아니하니이까 하니
But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said: 예수께서 그들의 악함을 아시고 이르시되
You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me?: 외식하는 자들아 어찌하여 나를 시험하느냐
Show me the coin used for paying the tax: 세금 낼 돈을 내게 보이라 하시니
They brought him a denarius, and he asked them: 데나리온 하나를 가져왔거늘 예수께서 말씀하시되
Whose portrait is this? And whose inscription?: 이 형상과 이 글이 누구의 것이냐
"Caesar's," they replied: 이르되 가이사의 것이니이다
Then he said to them: 이에 이르시되 그런즉
Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's: 가이사의 것은 가이사에게 하나님의 것은 하나님께 바치라 하시니
When they heard this, they were amazed: 그들이 이 말씀을 듣고 놀랍게 여겨
So they left him and went away: 예수를 떠나가니라
