◎마태복음 21장 28~32절(Matthew 21:28~32)

“What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, 'Son, go and work today in the vineyard.' 'I will, sir,' but he did not go. Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. 'I will not,' he answered, but later he changed his mind and went. He answered, 'Which of the two did what his father wanted?' 'The second' they answered. Jesus said to them, 'I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.”

“그러나 너희 생각에는 어떠하냐 어떤 사람에게 두 아들이 있는데 맏아들에게 가서 이르되 얘 오늘 포도원에 가서 일하라 하니 대답하여 이르되 아버지 가겠나이다 하더니 가지 아니하고 둘째 아들에게 가서 또 그와 같이 말하니 대답하여 이르되 싫소이다 하였다가 그 후에 뉘우치고 갔으니 그 둘 중의 누가 아버지의 뜻대로 하였느냐 이르되 둘째 아들이니이다 예수께서 그들에게 이르시되 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 세리들과 창녀들이 너희보다 먼저 하나님의 나라에 들어가리라 요한이 의의 도로 너희에게 왔거늘 너희는 그를 믿지 아니하였으되 세리와 창녀는 믿었으며 너희는 이것을 보고도 끝내 뉘우쳐 믿지 아니하였도다” (개역개정)

"What do you think?: 그러나 너희 생각에는 어떠하냐
There was a man who had two sons: 어떤 사람에게 두 아들이 있는데
He went to the first and said: 맏아들에게 가서 이르되
'Son, go and work today in the vineyard.': 얘 오늘 포도원에 가서 일하라 하니
'I will, sir,' but he did not go: 아버지 가겠나이다 하더니 가지 아니하고
"Then the father went to the other son: 둘째 아들에게 가서
and said the same thing: 또 그와 같이 말하니
'I will not,' he answered, but later he changed his mind and went: 대답하여 이르되 싫소이다 하였다가 그 후에 뉘우치고 갔으니
'Which of the two did what his father wanted?':그 둘 중의 누가 아버지의 뜻대로 하였느냐
'The second' they answered : 이르되 둘째 아들이니이다
'I tell you the truth: 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니
the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you: 세리들과 창녀들이 너희보다 먼저 하나님의 나라에 들어가리라
For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness: 요한이 의의 도로 너희에게 왔거늘
you did not believe him: 너희는 그를 믿지 아니하였으되
but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did: 세리와 창녀는 믿었으며
And even after you saw this: 너희는 이것을 보고도
you did not repent and believe him: 끝내 뉘우쳐 믿지 아니하였도다
