“When he arrived at the other side in the region of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way. What do you want with us, Son of God?" they shouted. Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time? Some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding. The demons begged Jesus, "If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs. He said to them, "Go!" So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water.” (NIV)
“또 예수께서 건너편 가다라 지방에 가시매 귀신 들린 자 둘이 무덤 사이에서 나와 예수를 만나니 그들은 몹시 사나워 아무도 그 길로 지나갈 수 없을 지경이더라 이에 그들이 소리 질러 이르되 하나님의 아들이여 우리가 당신과 무슨 상관이 있나이까 때가 이르기 전에 우리를 괴롭게 하려고 여기 오셨나이까 하더니 마침 멀리서 많은 돼지 떼가 먹고 있는지라 귀신들이 예수께 간구하여 이르되 만일 우리를 쫓아 내시려면 돼지 떼에 들여 보내 주소서 하니 그들에게 가라 하시니 귀신들이 나와서 돼지에게로 들어가는지라 온 떼가 비탈로 내리달아 바다에 들어가서 물에서 몰사하거늘” (개역개정)

They were so violent that no one could pass that way: 그들은 몹시 사나워 아무도 그 길로 지나갈 수 없을 지경이더라
What do you want with us, Son of God? they shouted: 이에 그들이 소리 질러 이르되 하나님의 아들이여 우리가 당신과 무슨 상관이 있나이까
Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?: 때가 이르기 전에 우리를 괴롭게 하려고 여기 오셨나이까 하더니
Some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding: 마침 멀리서 많은 돼지 떼가 먹고 있는지라
The demons begged Jesus, "If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs." : 귀신들이 예수께 간구하여 이르되 만일 우리를 쫓아 내시려면 돼지 떼에 들여 보내 주소서 하니
He said to them "Go!" : 그들에게 가라 하시니
So they came out and went into the pigs: 귀신들이 나와서 돼지에게로 들어가는지라
the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water: 온 떼가 비탈로 내리달아 바다에 들어가서 물에서 몰사하거늘
