650통의 종이학 편지가 전하는 제2 연평해전 이야기
I heard a news about students commemorating the second battle of Yeonpyeong.
한 뉴스를 통해 제2 연평해전을 기념하는 학생들에 관한 이야기를 듣게 되었습니다.
Commemorating the 19th anniversary of the second battle of Yeonpyeong, the elementary students wrote 650 paper crane letters for 6 heroes who put their life to protect our territorial waters. 제2 연평해전 19주기를 맞이하여, 우리 영해를 지키기 위해 목숨을 잃은 6명의 영웅들을 기억하며 초등학생들이 650통의 종이학 편지를 썼다고 합니다.
They got to know this sad story through the movie, ‘Battle of Yeonpyeong.’
그들은 영화 ‘연평해전’을 통해 이 슬픈 역사를 알게 되었다고 합니다.
The second battle of Yeonpyeong is the sincere story of our heroes who had to face with the North Korean patrol ship which violated NLL, the Northern Limit Line when Korea was excited about the 2002 World Cup.
제2 연평해전은 2002년 한일 월드컵으로 대한민국이 떠들썩했던 바로 그때, 서해 북방한계선(NLL)을 침범한 북한 경비정과 전투에 임했던 우리 영웅들의 진솔한 이야기입니다.
By the sudden strike of North Korean patrol ship, the battle of the two Korean vessels broke out and this finally killed 6 and injured 19 marines of South Korea.

사실, 우리는 ‘연평해전’이라는 한 사건에만 집중할지도 모릅니다. 그러나 그 이후의 이야기, 즉 희생자 가족들의 아픔을 기억하고 위로하며, 그들과 아픔을 함께 나누고자 노력해야 합니다. 진정 그들의 아픔이 마치 나의 아픔처럼 다가올 수 있어야 합니다.
