13.Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way.

pass judgment on~ : ~에 대해(~의 근거로) 판단을 통과하다.

“let us stop passing judgment on one another.” : ‘다른 사람에게 판단을 통과하는 데 멈추자.’ 이 말은 오직 판단하실 분은 예수님이시기 때문에 우리는 아무것도 판단할 자격도, 판단할 위치에 있지도 않으니 온전히 판단하실 주님께만 모든 판단을 맡기자는 말입니다.

결국은 “주의하라 즉 판단하라”는 뜻이다. 우리가 판단하고 주의해야 할 것은 가령, “형제들 앞에 거치는 것(범죄에의 유혹)이나 방해물을 놓지 아니하였는지” 하는 것들이다. 형제들 앞에 방해물을 놓아 그들이 실족하기라도 한다면 우리는 이에 대해 반드시 그리스도의 심판석에서 해명해야 할 것이고 이로 인해서 진땀을 흘려야 할뿐더러 우리에게 돌아오는 상은 없다. 우리는 이것을 결코 가볍게 생각해서는 안 된다.

마태복음 7:1-5
1 비판을 받지 아니하려거든 비판하지 말라 
2 너희의 비판하는 그 비판으로 너희가 비판을 받을 것이요 너희의 헤아리는 그 헤아림으로 너희가 헤아림을 받을 것이니라 
3 어찌하여 형제의 눈 속에 있는 티는 보고 네 눈 속에 있는 들보는 깨닫지 못하느냐 ? 
4 보라 네 눈 속에 들보가 있는데 어찌하여 형제에게 말하기를 나로 네 눈 속에 있는 티를 빼게 하라 하겠느냐 ? 
5 외식하는 자여 ! 먼저 네 눈 속에서 들보를 빼어라 그 후에야 밝히 보고 형제의 눈 속에서 티를 빼리라 
1."Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
2.For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3."Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
4.How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
5.You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
 
고린도전서 8:8-13 
8 식물은 우리를 하나님 앞에 세우지 못하나니 우리가 먹지 아니하여도 부족함이 없고 먹어도 풍족함이 없으리라 
9 그런즉 너희 자유함이 약한 자들에게 거치는 것이 되지 않도록 조심하라 
10 지식 있는 네가 우상의 집에 앉아 먹는 것을 누구든지 보면 그 약한 자들의 양심이 담력을 얻어 어찌 우상의 제물을 먹게 되지 않겠느냐 
11 그러면 네 지식으로 그 약한 자가 멸망하나니 그는 그리스도께서 위하여 죽으신 형제라 
12 이같이 너희가 형제에게 죄를 지어 그 약한 양심을 상하게 하는 것이 곧 그리스도에게 죄를 짓는 것이니라 
13 그러므로 만일 식물이 내 형제로 실족케 하면 나는 영원히 고기를 먹지 아니하여 내 형제를 실족치 않게 하리라
8.But food does not bring us near to God; we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.
9.Be careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak.
10.For if anyone with a weak conscience sees you who have this knowledge eating in an idol's temple, won't he be emboldened to eat what has been sacrificed to idols?
11.So this weak brother, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge.
12.When you sin against your brothers in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.
13.Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause him to fall.

그런즉 우리가 다시는 서로 판단하지 말고 도리어 부딪힐 것이나 거칠 것으로 형제 앞에 두지 아니할 것을 주의하라

14.As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean.

“As one who is in the Lord Jesus : 내가 주 예수 안에서 알고,” 
내가 주 예수 안에서 존재하는 자로서. 따라서 예수 안에 존재하는 자는 “예수 안에서 알고”라는 말이 성립되지요.

우리가 예술 작품들을 통해 우리의 혼을 순화시키고 양질의 교양을 넓혀나가는데 도움이 된다면 음악이든, 문학이든, 그림이든 얼마든지 가까이 하는 것이 좋다. 이런 것들은 우리의 삶에 필요한 정신적 양식이 된다. 문제는 우리의 혼을 병들게 하는 요소들이 문학을 매개체로 우리들에게 병균처럼 전염되어 우리를 병들게 하기 때문에 우리가 경계하지 않을 수 없다는 데에 있다. 
어떤 것이 부정한가 아닌가를 판가름할 때 우리는 두 가지 기준을 적용해 보아야 한다. 그 한 가지는 성경에 비추어 합당한가를 재보는 것이고, 다른 한 가지는 여기 14절의 말씀처럼 “아무것도 그 자체가 부정한 것은 없으나 어떤 것을 부정하다고 생각하는 그 사람에게는 부정한 것” 이라는 규칙이다. 다시 말해서, 우리가 어떤 일에 연루되면서 “나는 이것을 부정하다고 생각하지 않으므로 이것은 부정한 것이 아니다.” 라고 결론을 내리는 것만으로 끝내지 말고 “그렇다면 성경에 비추어 볼 때는 어떠한가?” 하고 한 번 더 생각해 본 다음 결론을 내려야 한다는 말이다.

레위기 10:8-11
8 여호와께서 아론에게 일러 가라사대 
9 너나 네 자손들이 회막에 들어갈 때에는 포도주나 독주를 마시지 말아서 너희 사망을 면하라 ! 이는 너희 대대로 영영한 규례라 
10 그리하여야 너희가 거룩하고 속된 것을 분별하며 부정하고 정한 것을 분별하고 
11 또 여호와가 모세로 명한 모든 규례를 이스라엘 자손에게 가르치리라 
8.Then the LORD said to Aaron,
9."You and your sons are not to drink wine or other fermented drink whenever you go into the Tent of Meeting, or you will die. This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come.
10.You must distinguish between the holy and the common, between the unclean and the clean,
11.and you must teach the Israelites all the decrees the LORD has given them through Moses."

사도행전 10:9-15
9 이튿날 저희가 행하여 성에 가까이 갔을 그 때에 베드로가 기도하려고 지붕에 올라가니 시간은 제 육시더라 
10 시장하여 먹고자 하매 사람이 준비할 때에 비몽사몽간에 
11 하늘이 열리며 한 그릇이 내려 오는 것을 보니 큰 보자기 같고 네 귀를 매어 땅에 드리웠더라 
12 그 안에는 땅에 있는 각색 네발 가진 짐승과 기는 것과 공중에 나는 것들이 있는데 
13 또 소리가 있으되 `베드로야, 일어나 잡아 먹으라' 하거늘 
14 베드로가 가로되 `주여, 그럴 수 없나이다 속되고 깨끗지 아니한 물건을 내가 언제든지 먹지 아니하였삽나이다' 한대 
15 또 두 번째 소리 있으되 `하나님께서 깨끗케 하신 것을 네가 속되다 하지 말라' 하더라 
9.About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city,
Peter went up on the roof to pray.
10.He became hungry and wanted something to eat,
and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance.
11.He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth 
by its four corners.
12.It contained all kinds of four-footed animals,
as well as reptiles of the earth and birds of the air.
13.Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat."
14."Surely not, Lord!" Peter replied. "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean."
15.The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."

내가 주 예수 안에서 알고 확신하는 것은 무엇이든지 스스로 속된 것이 없으되 다만 속되게 여기는 그 사람에게는 속되니라
